LEWISTON, MAINE – Reduce single-use plastic in the environment and give back to those in need in the local community, all while running routine weekly errands at Hannaford. United Way of Androscoggin County (UWAC) has been selected by local Hannaford store leadership at 95 Spring Street in Auburn as the benefiting non-profit in the Community Bag Program for the month of August.
The Hannaford Community Bag Program is an easy way for shoppers to give back to the local community and the environment as part of their regular shopping routine. United Way of Androscoggin County will receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 reusable Community Bag purchased at the Spring St Hannaford store location.
“It’s more important than ever to help reduce single-use plastic in the environment,” said Joleen Bedard, Executive Director of UWAC. “This program offers the perfect solution to multiple issues of the world today. We hope you’ll support us in August by purchasing one – or two! - Community Bags at our local Hannaford!”
Based in Lewiston, Maine the United Way of Androscoggin County has been proudly serving the local community since 1932. In 2018, we added Oxford County to our service area. To learn more, visit https://www.unitedwayandro.org.
