AUBURN – Thanksgiving Dinner ~ The Auburn Age Friendly Committee will host a Thanksgiving dinner on November 28. Open to the public with a donation requested. LEWISTON – Thanksgiving Meal ~ Trinity Jubilee Soup Kitchen serves a Thanksgiving Meal on the day before Thanksgiving. 11:00-11:30 a.m. Meals are all to-go. Each person in line can receive a meal. FMI call 207-782-5700.

LEWISTON – Store Next Door Christmas ~ The Store Next Door helps Homeless youth identified in the Lewiston Public School System. Parents should contact your child’s school if you are in need of gifts/help for Christmas. 

LEWISTON/AUBURN – Salvation Army Angel Tree Program ~ The Salvation Army of Lewiston/Auburn Online Christmas 2024 Angel Tree Application is active and available for all vulnerable families in Lewiston and Auburn with children through 12 years. Go to www.saangeltree.org, enter your valid email address, zip code and submit your application. Email Major Jessie at Jessica.Irwin@use.salvationarmy.org  with any questions or concerns.
 
LISBON – Sunshine Hill Seniors Thanksgiving Luncheon ~ Turkey Dinner with all the fixings, usually the week before Thanksgiving, for senior citizens and their families. Suggested $5 donation per person, no one turned away. For more information call Aline Strout, Lisbon Parks & Recreation Senior Coordinator 207-353-2289 ext. 404.

LISBON – LACO Lisbon Area Christian Outreach ~ Food Pantry operating 2 days per week offers extra baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as toys around Christmas time. For more information call Debbie Hill 207-576-1103.

LISBON – Thanksgiving Baskets ~ The Lisbon School Department and the Town of Lisbon works with our local grocery store Food City and hands out Thanksgiving Baskets on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving at the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church. Please contact Gretchen Steven by email at gstevens@lisbonschoolsme.org to get more information about receiving a Thanksgiving basket for Lisbon Families. 

LISBON – Town of Lisbon Giving Tree ~ Giving trees set up a Town of Lisbon Library and Food City grocery store. Gifts purchased by the community and returned mid-December, wrapped by Town of Lisbon volunteers and distributed to families. LISBON – St. Matthew’s Church Kid’s Only Shop ~ Kids are welcome to go shopping for their family from a huge variety of donated items, each item cost $1 with a limit of ten items. Gifts are wrapped and tagged by “elves” assisting. Coffee & cookies for waiting parents. Usually held the second Saturday of December. For more information contact

MINOT – Thanksgiving Food Baskets, Christmas Food Baskets, Gifts for Children ~ Minot provides food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as gifts for children in the household. This is open to those within the Town of Minot or RSU#16 school district. There are no income qualifications and people can self-nominate or someone else can do so at MinotME.org under the General Assistance tab. Starting in early November, we reach out to families who have been nominated to make sure they are interested and learn about their households (size, food restrictions and schedule pickup). If there are children and they are participating, we get general information about their interests and clothing sizes so we can make anonymous tags for our giving tree. ANDROSCOGGIN COUNTY – Portland Press Herald Toy Fund ~ The Press Herald Toy Fund provides gifts and books to Maine children from infancy through age 16 who live in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and York Counties. Information and applications are available at https://www.pressherald.com/press-herald-toy-fund-apply-for-assistance/  Applicants are required to confirm their financial need when they apply. BETHEL – Turkey Baskets ~ will be given away starting at 11am on Sunday, November 24 in the parking lot. First come, first served. Bethel Area District Exchange and Food Pantry, 279 Walkers Mills Road, Bethel.

BETHEL – Turkey Tuesday ~ Community Turkey Dinner at Mt. Abram, Tuesday, November 26, Doors open at 5pm, Dinner starts at 6pm. Bring your own plates, napkins, silverware, and tablecloth. You can donate side dishes and desserts! A donation to Bethel Area District Exchange and Food Pantry is suggested. DIXFIELD (RSU#10 & RSU#56) – DDF Toy Drive ~ Works directly with the area Elementary Schools. Children receive snow pants, a coat and new boots plus toys. If you have a child and need assistance, please call your child’s school.

DIXFIELD – Help Fuel Your Community ~ This program is for the working families – We wanted to help the families that have one working person or the family that were overqualified for fuel assistance. MEXICO – Thanksgiving Meal Box Giveaway ~ Mexico Good Samaritan, Old School Pantry and Servants Heart Pantry will collaborate supply Thanksgiving Meal boxes. YOU MUST SIGN UP BY CALLING 207-418-1265. Friday, November 22 from 11am – 1 pm at Calvin Lyons Hall below Mexico Town Hall, 134 Main Street, Mexico.

OXFORD HILLS – Rightstart Inc. Christmas for Kids ~ For children from infancy to 6th grade. School aged children must be enrolled in Oxford Hills Elementary Schools or registered as homeschooled. To be eligible you must also be: 1. A resident of Norway, South Paris, Oxford, Otisfield, Hebron, Harrison, Waterford and West Paris. You may be asked to show proof of residency.  2. The primary custodial parent/guardian with the children living in your home. If custody is shared, please be advised only one application will be approved. Your child/children will only be served one time per year. It is up to you how you share their gifts.  3. Eligible under federal guidelines which qualify children for federal programs. You must show proof of income, including child support, disability, wages, etc. unless you receive one of the following: food stamps or fuel assistance. Applications can be picked up at Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, 4 Western Avenue, South Paris. Application Deadline is December 8, 2024. Mail your completed application to Christmas for Kids, P.O. Box 726, Norway, ME 04268 or drop off at the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, 4 Western Avenue, South Paris in the drop box provided or the MSAD 17 office at 232 Main Street, South Paris. Teens must be full time students at Oxford Hills Middle School or Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School/Technical School. In order to be eligible for the Christmas for Teens program, you must also be: 1. A resident of Norway, South Paris, Oxford, Otisfield, Hebron, Waterford, West Paris or Harrison. Proof of residency must be shown.  2. The primary custodial parent/guardian with the teen(s) living in your home or if applicable approved school representative. If custody is shared, please be advised only one application will be approved. Your teen/children will only be served one time per year.  3. Eligible under the federal guidelines, which qualify children for federal programs, you must show proof of all income including child support, disability, wages, etc. unless you receive one of the following: food stamps, fuel assistance or MSAD17 reduced price school lunches. Applications can be picked up at Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, 4 Western Avenue, South Paris. Application Deadline is December 8, 2024. Mail your completed application to Christmas for Teens, P.O.
